The Clinton card suggests that it is a thank you note to past supporters. As a Christmas card it seems that even in this venue of unconditional good will, political support is paramount in her thinking. The Edwards card is simply not well thought out for the reasons you stated. I think highly of John Edwards as a candidate but everything a political candidate does is critical, even the subtlety of a Christmas card.
