My Book Club

I have to apologize for my absence but I've been completely engrossed in my final project for school. I was tasked with creating a web application using MySQL and PHP. Generally I manage these types of things rather than code them myself so it was quite an ordeal to switch from manager to programmer. But it's done!

I'll be sharing the project once I move it over to my own website. It's on a friend's server and he might not appreciate me sending my readers there to cause trouble. But when its done, it will be a place that we can all share our book recommendations. I have to convert it from it's "Parents Book Club" status (for kids) to the Mentat Book Club (for adults).

The program asks that each person register and describe themselves. Then you can begin adding books to the book club. When you add a book, you provide the author, isbn number (thinking ahead to integration with other services here), plot and "the message." You also choose from a list of topics that the book addresses.

When you wish to find a book in the book club, you choose from among the topics for listings of items other clubbers have added and you can then read more about the book and who recommended it.

It's a simple concept. It's expandable. Could be fun!
Stay tuned....
