Library funding can be a political challenge in the best of times -- and that's why EveryLibrary's Library Advocacy and Funding Conference in September is going to be so important for library leaders to attend!  (Disclosure: we've been proud partners and supporters of EveryLibrary for quite some time, and we're helping sponsor this event!)

The LAFcon - an entirely virtual event, of course - will bring together an exciting lineup of strategists and experts, and it couldn't be more timely, per the conference website:

In the last ten years, libraries have lost nearly 20% of voter and political support for funding and revenue. This is an alarming statistic considering that over 98% of library funding is decided by voters and politicians. That means that without this support, libraries will drastically lose funding across the country in the coming years.

Although the final program schedule is still being determined, topics will include:

  • Media coverage and media relations
  • Political Languages
  • Messaging Strategies
  • Audience and Messaging Segmentation for Librarians
  • Digital Tactics and Tools for Identification
  • Understanding Supporters
  • Library Financing
  • Building Smart Strategic Plans for Support

And many more!
